GCINA ZONDI - CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Gcina is the founding Chief Executive and shareholder of Imbewu. He has the overall responsibility for the operational, strategic and investment activities of the company.

He has more than twenty-seven years' experience in the private equity industry, of which six years were spent with Nedbank Capital Private Equity, previously known as BoE Corporate Investment Partners, as a Private Equity Manager. His responsibilities involved sourcing, evaluating, structuring, investing, monitoring and exiting private equity and investment banking transactions, mainly in the Black Economic Empowerment arena.

Prior to joining Nedbank, Gcina completed his articles of clerkship at KPMG where he was involved in normal and specialised audit assignments for various businesses ranging from manufacturing to financial institutions for five years.

Gcina worked for Hulamin Limited, a Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE) listed company, in the finance division for two and half years prior to joining KPMG.

Gcina holds Bachelor of Accounting Science and Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours) degrees from the University of South Africa. He is a qualified General Accountant and is an associate of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Gcina is currently a director of Isegen South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Container Conversions (Pty) Ltd, Icon Construction (Pty) Ltd, RCL Foods Limited, Hulamin Limited and TFG Limited. He was previously a director of International Facilities Services (Pty) Ltd, GMA Logistics (Pty) Ltd, Aka Capital (Pty) Ltd, Reebok South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Autovest Limited, True Blue Foods Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Futurekids SA (Pty) Ltd, Corobrik (Pty) Ltd and BO's Hire & Sales (Pty) Ltd.

He is a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IODSA), the Investment Analyst Society (IAS), and the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP).

SIZWE NKOSI

Sizwe's experience combines financial roles in the corporate sector, consulting, and development finance. He is currently the Financial Director of Firestone Energy Limited (ASX & JSE listed).

Sizwe completed his articles at Ernst & Young, is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also has an MBA which he obtained at the University of Cape Town - Graduate School of Business.

Sizwe has gained vast experience from mining, financial services and FMCG industries. He has worked on middle and senior financial management roles for Nampak Tissue, Independent Newspaper, De Beers Consolidated Mines and Foskor. He spent two years with Investec Bank specialising in Growth and Acquisition finance transactions.

Thabang Redman - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FINANCE

Thabang is the Executive Director of Finance at Imbewu Capital Partners. She is a qualified chartered accountant with more than fifteen years post-qualification experience. She has professional experience in financial management and control, corporate governance, audit, commercial engagement and stakeholder management.

She completed her articles at Deloitte, after which she worked in various roles at SABMiller and RCL FOODS. Thabang served on the Board of African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) Forum. She also served on the SAICA Eastern Region Council in her capacity as chairperson of the AWCA in KwaZulu-Natal. In 2025, she completed the IWFSA Executive Leadership Programme from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. In 2024, she obtained a certificate in People Management from Rhodes University. In 2015, Thabang was selected as part of the Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development where she obtained an Advanced Certificate in Emerging Markets and Country Risk analysis from Fordham University in New York City. In 2014 she obtained a Certificate in Board Leadership: Women Leading Africa from Duke University conducted in Johannesburg South Africa.
